Job Description:
 

McCain Foods (Canada) is currently seeking a temporary Laundry Room Attendant to join our Florenceville team.   
 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 education or GED

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to deal with internal and external contacts

• Ability to work with speed and accuracy while being detail oriented

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Possess an excellent attendance record

• Ability to lift/carry approximately 20 kilograms

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and get along well with others

• Be self-motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude

• Basic computer skills would be considered an asset 
   

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for daily cleaning of lab coats and coveralls

• Maintain glove dispensing stations

• Maintain laundry room so it neat and tidy

• Keep the packaging conference room and hallway clean

• Order and stock laundry supplies

• Keep up to date records as required 

• Order new garments as required 

• Lift/handle up to 20 kg of boxes and bags

• Must have training on chemical systems and receive appropriate allergy training 

• Weekly cleaning of team rooms, and offices in packaging

• Sweeping/ scrubbing and vacuuming.

• Cleaning and maintaining the locker rooms and bathrooms daily 

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.”  Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments.  Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal.  Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
