About the role. 

Responsible for supporting the Distributors Foodservice Team, with a North America lens, focused on Sysco, GFS, US Foods and PFG, the Senior Manager, Finance will support all relevant distributor, cost, competitor, and consumer information required to make forward looking pricing decisions and support sales team to build strong partnership with our key distributors focus in winning together.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to market and opportunity definition, customer and sales research, product sourcing, selection and pricing, selling strategies, trade optimization, profitability modeling, and process measurement.  This position will have significant interaction with sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing finance.

 

What you'll be doing.

  • Assist the Sales Team in contract margin assessment process, assess competitive strengths and weaknesses in developing McCain’s pricing strategy, following fair and equitable principles.
  • Work cross functionally with sales, supply chain, operations finance, logistics and marketing to ensure that McCain’s bid package is as comprehensive and competitive as possible.
  • Lead the monthly reporting process for volume, price and mix analysis to various internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the monthly reporting process for Pricing and Trade Strategy producing value added reporting and analysis on contract negotiation status, variance to budget, and contract post-mortems.
  • Develop and maintain price forecasting model to support planning and analyze monthly/quarterly vs. appropriate benchmarks, make value-added recommendations, and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested in order to facilitate the formation of sound business plans and strategies.
  • Partner with category managers to lead the financial modeling of potential promotional activities, analyze the impact of new business proposals, and manage overall margins as it relates to product pricing and promotions.
  • Monitor current market conditions and market pricing on competing products and categories and develop recommendations to respond to changing market conditions.
  • Integral member of the S&OP process by providing Sales support from demand forecasting to financial modeling.
  • Build strong business partnership with sales team for distributors, to assess strategically customers and participate in RFP negotiations.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Leads a team and develops finance talent by providing work direction, timely feedback, periodic performance assessments, and career development planning.
  • Leads, embraces, and has a passion for process improvement, standardization and implements in collaboration with the Finance Manager, Commercial Finance
     

 

What you'll need to be successful. 

  • University degree in Business or Finance required
  • MBA or Accounting designation (CPA) a strong asset
  • 5+ years’ experience with finance and trade fund management, preferably in the consumer product goods organization.
  • Strong results and action oriented (initiative)

  • Natural collaboration skills
  • Responsive and capable of handling business pressure
  • This role is highly dependent on the ability of the candidate to effectively communicate with Sales teams, while implementing controls and guardrails around trade spend management. 
  • The candidate must be able to work effectively with many functions, primarily, Sales, Sales Strategy and within Finance. 
  • A team player, and someone willing to ‘go the extra mile’; many times there are non-finance requests which come to the Finance team, and this candidate must be willing to accommodate ad-hoc requests.

Compensation Package: $107,600.00 - $143,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility 

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
