About the role.

  • The Senior Manager, Global CapEx is accountable for end-to-end ownership of the Global Capital Expenditure Plan, ensuring disciplined planning, allocation, and utilization of capital investments on a worldwide scale.
  • This leadership role is responsible for championing excellence in capital prioritization, investment governance, and spend optimization to deliver strategic value and competitive advantage for the business. The incumbent collaborates closely with global and regional stakeholders to align capital investments with long-term business objectives.  It implies the animation and share of the regions CapEx manager team.
  • The role report to the Global Head of Engineering & Maintenance.

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Accountable for leading the annual capital plan update, providing a detailed outlook for the upcoming year and a strategic 5-year view. This includes translating the company’s business strategy and priorities into clear regional expectations, setting guidelines for the development of site-specific capital plans, and consolidating them into a single global plan for evaluation and approval. 
  • Lead regular reviews with regional teams and global stakeholders (Engineering, Operation, Agriculture, REO, IS, D&R) to track capital plan performance. Assess actual spend against plan, identify breakdowns, and collaborate on breakthrough opportunities. Analyze proposed forecasts and evaluate their implications for year-end projections and overall global capital commitments. 
  • Consolidate global capital plan data monthly into a single, consistent database with project-level detail.  
  • Active member of all major project execution committees globally and acts as the secretary for these meetings. 
  • Member of selection team for Project Management Digitization tool selection & PMM (project Management) Practice.
  • Maintain and update the monthly Global Capital Dashboard within the Global Operations Analytics Hub (Power BI), ensuring accurate and timely visibility of capital performance and KPIs tracking. 
  • Formal E0/1/2/3 Updates and Contingency Management Lead formal quarterly financial updates (E0/1/2/3), aligning and validating the regional capital forecast in coordination with business needs. Manage the global “contingency” line, balancing total spend through spend trajectory analysis, project optimization, and incorporation of new global initiatives. 
  • Oversee the annual SAP setup to enable project creation in the new fiscal year, while ensuring proper closure of the previous year. Safeguard data integrity by preventing incorrect uploads and unauthorized data manipulation. 
  • Serve as the Global Engineering representative on Regional Capital Committees, providing guidance on processes, procedures, and new directives. Ensure alignment between global and regional capital plans, while monitoring regional actions that may impact the global plan and escalating issues when required. 
  • Prepare and co-lead the quarterly Global Investment Committee (GIC), beginning seven weeks in advance. Responsibilities include defining and aligning the agenda, ensuring regional presentations content and follow-up actions of past GIC are incorporated, and collaborating with regions on the development of their materials. Lead the preparation of the core review presentation, align content with senior leadership, and manage scheduling and facilitation of the sessions. Act as a presenter in the capital progression section, providing clear data for proper decision-making. 
  • Support the Global Engineering Town Hall / Global activities by aligning the agenda with the Engineering Leadership team; preparing materials and leading the session. Act as presenter for the Capital Update section, ensuring consistent communication of progress and priorities with a focus on CapEx.
     

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • University degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline. 
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in capital planning, financial management of capital assets, project management and investment governance in food industry. Operation experience would be a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative business relationships at global and regional levels. 
  • Proven strength in influencing strategic decisions and facilitating alignment across complex, cross-functional groups. 
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Ability to lead through delegation and accountability, driving multiple priorities and initiatives. 
  • Robust understanding of capital planning and investment optimization principles across multinational organizations. 
  • Deep knowledge of the business, preferably across multiple regions and markets. 
  • English language is a must, knowledge of other language can be a plus
  • Willing and able to travel internationally / oversee up to 25% to support strategic objectives and stakeholder engagement.
  • Pivotal role leading to a senior project management role or a sub regional engineering management role
  • Location close to a McCain Hub

Compensation Package: $111,700.00 - $149,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility 

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
