Job Description:
Reporting to the Director Marketing - Retail, the contract position of Senior Brand Manager will manage both execution and strategy on the branded Canadian Retail Potato business while covering a maternity leave. Acting as a strategic partner with the cross functional team (sales, innovation, ISC, etc), the Senior Brand Manager is responsible for leading all general management workstreams (consumer, innovation, pricing, people management, etc). This role presents an exciting opportunity to manage all facets of McCain’s flagship Retail Potato business and has direct report responsibiities.
What You'll Be Doing...
- Business owner responsible for P&L management of McCain’s retail potato business.
- In depth analysis of the market/consumer/trends and development of key strategies across the 4P's.
- Development and approval of the business and brand plan; setting the strategic vision for the business and adjusting as needed.
- Development of strategic programs and advertising campaigns to deliver against brand objectives.
- Works with the innovation team and R&D to develop consumer centric innovation strategies and execution plans.
- Manages and motivates team of two direct reports as well as cross-functional team members in a broader matrix environment.
- Has an in depth understanding of the Canadian Retail environment and understands overall market trends.

- Has a strong ability to execute, combined with strong ability to look at the business strategically, make recommendations and have them approved to move forward.
- Has strong communication and influence skills; is able to bring the cross functional team along, manage, motivate and develop direct reports.
- Has led product launches, IMC and brand planning.
- Has some experience with mentoring or leading a team of directs.
- Is familiar with managing a complex portfolio within a global operating environment.
What will make you successful in this role:
- Passionate about the food industry.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration.
- Minimum 7 years of brand management experience in retail CPG, preferably in food.
- Strong ability to execute combined with strategic ability.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who leads business strategy and can bring along a cross functional team.
Compensation Package: $107,600.00 - $143,500.00 CAD annually
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
