About the role.

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Sanitation Operator to join our Fry Plant facility in Grand Falls, NB. Please note, this position is physically demanding and requires working 12-hour rotating shifts, on a 4-on 4-off basis (2 days, 2 nights). This role requires performing duties in both warm and hot indoor environments, as well as working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions. The ability to effectively adapt to fluctuating temperatures and weather changes is critical to success in this position.

 

Additionally, the role is situated in a fast-paced, dynamic, and frequently noisy workplace, which necessitates maintaining a high level of alertness and flexibility. Employees must be comfortable with routine physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, and safely lifting items weighing between 35 and 40 pounds.

Applicants should be comfortable working amid substantial sensory input and able to maintain focus and productivity during extended shifts. The ideal candidate will be dependable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Each sanitation employee will be responsible for production line cleanliness, and other assigned areas as required.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in their assigned area by use of a water hose and chemicals (after chemical training is received).
  • Follow GMP’s.
  • Advise supervision of any safety issues within their work environment.
  • Actively looks for ways to improve plant sanitation.
  • Actively looking for ways to improve overall area operation.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Operating a skyjack and scissor lift, including the use of a harness for specific tasks
  • Performing MDI shift handoffs to ensure seamless workflow between shifts
     


What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills would be an asset.
  • Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees.
  • Team player with excellent attendance.
  • Demonstrate continuous initiative and involvement.
  • Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.
  • Availability of work during shutdown periods
  • Participation in mandatory clean-up days as scheduled

Compensation Package:  -  Starting at22.24 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts 

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
