Summary:
We are seeking an organized individual to join us as a Safety Coordinator in our Carberry, Manitoba Facility. As the successful candidate, you will be a hands-on representative of the Safety department and help facilitate all basic Safety functions. In this position, you will provide administrative support to ensure that safety procedures and protocols are adequately implemented and enforced in the workplace.
What you’ll be doing.
· Provides support to H&S Manager with respect to overall Safety Function
· Preparing and maintaining safety related documents such as reports, health and safety records, and employee training and other safety related issues.
· Maintaining various safety related databases, tracking indicators and metrics to monitor workplace safety performance.
· Preparing toolbox talks for the different departments and track compliance on the system.
· Assisting with the development and improvement of workplace safety and procedures.
· Performing regular safety inspections and assisting with the identification of workplace hazards.
· Coordinating meetings and communications between management, JHSC members, employees and regulatory regarding safety initiatives and compliance.
· Maintaining detailed records and incident reports on all accidents, injuries that occur at the workplace.
· Conduct safety training and awareness sessions, for inspecting workplace for potential hazards.
· Conduct on the job compliance audits in conjunction with H&S Manager
· Collaborating with others within the factory to improve safety.
· Audit, Inspect, issue and control PPE
· Control and order PPE, once stock is low
· Perform hazard identification and risk assessments in conjunction with the departmental supervisors
· Conduct Safety Interaction training and coach on a regular basis
· Conduct Safety Orientation on a weekly basis
· Be an Active member of our H&S Sub committees: Pedestrian Safety, Incident management, Process Safety, Machine Guarding and any other safety related projects
· Interpretation and administration of site health and safety policies, procedures, programs
· Responsible for filing, typing, record keeping, analysis of safety records, preparing documents, tracking, follow up and support to team members
· Administration and maintenance of all internal Safety systems, ensuring compliance to company policies and legislation
· Monitor and verify Contractor compliance on ISN system on a weekly basis
· Assists with research, data analysis and prepares reports on a variety of Safety related items
· Contributes to success of plant objectives through participation in Safety evaluations and safety initiatives
· Other duties and projects as assigned
What you’ll need to be successful.
· Post-secondary diploma/degree in safety management, relations or related field, example NEBOSH
· 2-3 years of progressively responsible Safety experience
· General knowledge of Safety administrative, theories, practices, legislation in the Province of Manitoba
· Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written
· Strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, excel spreadsheets, data based software, presentation software, Power BI, MS Forms, email and web browsers
· Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to foster positive working relationships
· Strong aptitude for numbers and analyzing information, attention to detail
· Strong organizational skills
· A self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a team
· Excellent problem solving and coaching abilities
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
