About the role.
McCain Foods is currently accepting applications for Reliability Maintenance Technician positions. The Reliability Technician will perform preventive maintenance and/or install, repair, and troubleshoot industrial machinery and equipment. This role will be working a 12-hour day shift.
What you’ll be doing.
Responsible for lubrication of the equipment across all the plants
Responsible for equipment inspections.
Supports the needs and requests from the MDI teams and other the glide path items.
Performs asset inspections using tools and instruments such as Vibration meters, Ultrasonic meters, handheld IR temperature guns, IR cameras, Acoustic Imagers, Motor Alignment tool and any other instruments and technology available or become available in the future.
Performs asset inspections by looking, listening, feeling and smell.
Performs oil sampling on running and down equipment.
Enters data collected from the asset inspections into the CMMS system.
Monitors equipment health by reviewing data and trends in the CMMS system. Sets and adjusts indicator baseline and alarm limits based on the data collected and good engineering and maintenance practices.
Participates in the inspection route development process with maintenance planners, maintenance planner supervisor and reliability engineer.
Work with maintenance planners, maintenance planner supervisor and reliability engineer to continuously optimize the inspection routes.
Work with maintenance planners, maintenance planner supervisor and reliability engineer to develop SOP’s and documentation for inspection routes.
Mark measurement locations on equipment that must be repeated to ensure consistency.
Creates notifications, work orders, recommendations and comments and performs related tasks within the CMMS system to ensure equipment deficiencies are corrected.
Follow up with maintenance planners to ensure equipment deficiencies are corrected.
Follow up with mechanics as applicable when repairs are made to verify inspection findings or to further your knowledge base.
What you’ll need to be successful.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or technical school; or four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Open, willing, and capable of receiving further training, with travel likely required. Training in the use of advanced tools (vibration, lubrication, thermography, etc.) will be required. Training will include on-site and off-site training. Certification exams will be taken after some of the training.
Requires considerable care to avoid moderate to major damage to equipment, moderate damage of product and serious injury to self and others.
Must have own tools to perform mechanical/electrical maintenance tasks safely (Company will provide tools for equipment inspection tasks).
Requires a professional certification from an accredited body of knowledge, or previous experience and demonstrated competency. In addition, the candidate will possess basic electrical knowledge, electrical / instrumentation tech school credits, OJT, or millwright mechanic coursework taken 2008 or later, or previous experience with demonstrated competency.
Experience or training on working safely with 480 VAC three phase power.
Basic knowledge of power distribution, control wiring and other related components, PLC functions, VFD functionality and servo or process controllers. Basic electrical troubleshooting and one-for-one component replacement skills. The position does include setting up codes on coders in applicable departments.
Employees are expected to complete certifications and time in role requirements to meet position and pay grade expectations. This include but not limited to:
Completion of previous grade levels and requirements
Certified in maintenance lubrication technician I (MLTI) and II (MLTII)
Certified in Ultrasound I and II
Certified in maintenance lubrication analysis II (MLA II)
Certified in Vibration I (VCat I) and II (VCat II)
Infrared Thermography Level-1.

Compensation Package: $30.66 USD hourly + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
