About the role. 

The Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator is accountable for maintaining the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program for the McCain Foods Burley Plant.  The PSM Program will adhere to the requirements of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.  Additionally, the PSM Coordinator will coordinate the training for the Boiler and Refrigeration (B&R) Department.  The PSM Coordinator will also provide training to plant employees and/or contractors, as required. 

What you’ll be doing. 

  • Continuously maintain all PSM data in order to ensure that all information is current as it relates to the PSM Program, subsequent action items, and required records. 

  • Manage and maintain all file system records, both electronically and hard copies, for all applicable PSM Program elements, including PM records, B-109 records, MOC records, incident investigation records, employee participation records, training records, and all other records generated from any PSM program elements. 

  • Maintain audit ready PSM program, data, and records at all times through periodic internal self-audits. 

  • Develop and regularly review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the refrigeration systems and ensure that all P&ID’s are up to date. 

  • Maintain the B&R Department electronic files (i.e. SharePoint site, designated computer drive, or other computer program) with current PSM and refrigeration information, applicable incident reports, and all other relevant PSM and refrigeration department information. 

  • Schedule and participate in all monthly B&R Department PSM meetings.  These meetings should include a review of all open action items, SOP training, MOC (Management of Change) project updates, review of incident reports, and other pertinent information and training. 

  • Assist the B&R Supervisor with updating the open recommendation tracking sheets and prepare the quarterly status report.  Schedule and participate in the quarterly PSM Review Meetings. 

  • Develop and manage detailed maintenance plans for the Boiler & Refrigeration (B&R) department, ensuring all scheduled work aligns with operational priorities and is effectively coordinated with the B&R Supervisor to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency 

  • Participate in three-year compliance audits and five-year Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).  Coordinate and cooperate with third-party and/or corporate five-year mechanical integrity inspections.  Maintain all open recommendations from audits, reviews, analysis, and inspections in the appropriate tracking forms. 

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses when required. 

  • Assist as needed in developing inspection, test, and preventative maintenance plans and equipment reliability for the B&R Department. 

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all B&R equipment operations to facilitate accurate and current operator training. 

  • Facilitate B&R Operator training, which may require working side-by-side with the operators on occasion. 

  

What you’ll need to be successful. 

Education 

  • High school diploma or GED required 

  • Associate degree preferred. 

  

Experience 

  • Four years of related experience and/or training in boilers, refrigeration, and systems; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Prior leadership experience preferred. 

  • Prior training experience preferred. 

  

Certifications 

  • PSM/OSHA certification preferred and/or specific training and education regarding Process Safety Management. 

  • Preferred RETA CIRO certification.

Reporting to the Boiler and Refrigeration Supervisor this role will be an individual contributor with a strong cross-functional relationship with the B&R department, vendors, and production team.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 -$78,500.00  USD annually + bonus eligibility 

  

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
