JOB TITLE: Oakes Operator Desserts 

DEPARTMENT:  Prepared Foods

JOB GRADE: Grade 4B

Grade Range: $23.25 – $25.41

McCain Foods (Canada) – Florenceville Prepared Foods currently has an opening for an Oakes Operator to join the Desserts team at our Florenceville Prepared Foods plant. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 education or GED

•  Basic computer skills would be an asset

• Must be able to work shift work including weekend with minimal supervision

• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees

• Team player with excellent attendance

• Successful completion of 90 day training period 

• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations 

DUTIES AND Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : 

• Responsible for the accurate completion of all documentation and HACCP system procedures for the Production and Sanitation areas. 

• Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues. 

• Ensure that all Oakes and production equipment is in good working condition and report issues to the Supervisor. 

• Participate in Team meetings, as required. 

• Operates all of the equipment associated CIP and Production. 

• Complete Oakes validations and reviews.

• Help by breaking and cross-training as necessary. 

• Communicate any changes, issues, etc. to other operators.

• Ensure targets are met by understanding and goal setting and KPI’s

• Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s)

• All additional duties as they become assigned. 

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.”  Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments.  Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal.  Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will be held as necessary and those selected for an interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability for the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
