About the role.
The Manager Tax is a corporate tax role reporting to Director, Tax Planning. This role will ensure compliance with the new global tax framework, specifically focusing on the implementation of Pillar Two tax rules. This role will pro-actively assess, recommend, and implement tools and processes to ensure compliance with global requirements. Ongoing analysis and planning to ensure complexities of international taxation are addressed and support strategic tax planning with respect to Pillar Two. This role will also support ongoing global tax planning, transfer pricing, tax audits, and tax compliance as required from time to time.
What you'll be doing.
Pillar Two Implementation:
- Ensure readiness for Pillar Two from a data, compliance, and reporting perspective.
- Manage key deliverables related to Pillar Two implementation.
- Identify, assess, and support the implementation of technology and tools that will allow for efficient data gathering, and reporting of Pillar Two compliance requirements.
- Establish and maintain processes, controls, and governance over Pillar Two compliance requirements.
Pillar Two Tax Compliance:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Tax, Accounting, Corporate and Regional Finance, Legal, and IT, to gather data and information from individual subsidiaries and business units.
- Facilitate cross-entity collaboration to ensure accurate determination of all Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax (GMT) components at a jurisdictional level.
- Manage the preparation and filing of tax/information returns in alignment with Pillar Two GMT regulations for Canada and the global group of Companies.
Other Global Tax:
- Support Tax Planning team to assess impact of changes in Canadian and relevant global legislation and recommend appropriate actions as required.
- Support other global income tax priorities.
- Identify tax planning opportunities in collaboration with Corporate Tax team and local advisors.
- Support planning and execution of mergers and acquisitions and other transactions as required.
What you'll need to be successful.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Accounting or Finance with CPA designation. Master in tax and / or CPA in-depth tax courses advantageous.
- Minimum 5-7 years of Canadian multi-national / international tax compliance and planning experience in a national accounting firm, and/or in the tax department of a multi-national Canadian corporation.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and tax reporting (IFRS).
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian income tax law and working knowledge of Canadian foreign affiliate rules.
- Experience with corporate internal reorganizations, repatriations, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and other tax planning related to a Canadian multinational company is an asset.

- Strong knowledge of common computer applications (direct experience working with accounting / ERP system an asset).
Other Notes:
Hybrid role: 3 days in office per week. This may fluctuate depending on the work to be done.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
