MDI Manager

About the role.
This position is responsible for engaging all stakeholders with the McCain Driving Impact (MDI) systems at the Othello Manufacturing site. This includes the rollout, execution, and sustainment of MDI related activities, processes, and plans. Serves as a change agent and facilitator of the MDI processes. Identifies key result areas and assists in the development and facilitation of MDI events through the lenses of engagement.
What you’ll be doing.
- Engage MDI system leads, area leads, and front-line employees through coaching and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Provide the leadership and initiative to ensure the successful implementation and sustainment of MDI.
- Proactively manage change in a way to help ensure continuous improvement success.
- Learn and develop the key skills required to implement all DMS across the plant.
- Help create ownership and shared results from process improvements.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate activities such as FIT events, training/education in various continuous improvement processes, etc.
- Be a teacher and facilitator of continuous improvement.
- Develop and utilize tools that will maximize the effectiveness of MDI and sustain them over time.
- This includes but is not limited to OSI PI, Defect Logs, Centerlines, CID Routes and other related continuous improvement tools.
- Track and report KEY milestones and metrics related to plant MDI goals.
- Ensure processes and practices are in place to identify and share best practices with the plant and across the organization.
- Provide a professional work environment with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to effectively manage up, down, and across the organization and successfully build collaborative relations across the supply chain.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to be successful.
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- To be able to facilitate the collaborative examination of the possible outcomes of FIT events, focusing on safety, quality and productivity.
- Possess thorough knowledge of plant operations.
- To be able to consistently challenge continuous improvement teams to achieve superior results during a FIT event.
- Drive engagement through coaching and training during each DMS Work with the teams to set and achieve stretch goals for the event; encourage calculated risks based on facts Be an effective listener; able to ‘read’ the cues of his/her audience and adapt approach/message; encourage open communication and sharing of ideas among the team members, ensuring that everyone has a voice; must be capable of selling ideas (both company and personal).
- Assemble teams with the right balance and expertise; foster growth of emerging leaders by identifying and coaching team leaders for events. Help the teams to analyze situations and break problems down into manageable parts; consider multiple solutions to a given problem; act only on facts/data.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or operations management, engineering, or related management experience of 3-5 years with an emphasis on operations and continuous improvement.
- Must also have 3 years’ experience with operations (manufacturing, procurement, warehousing, distribution, human resources, engineering, or quality control), including 2-3 years in a management/leadership role.
- Key Skills and Attributes: A proven track record on continuous improvement and results achieved through the development and growth of others.
- Must excel at thought leadership and the ability to work with and influence others.
- The ideal candidate is an individual who has the skills, drive, and desire to be a senior leader in the operations organization.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
