Job Description:
McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville, New Brunswick Prepared Foods facility has an immediate opening for a full-time permanent Licensed Industrial Electrician to join the maintenance team. The position is responsible for the setup and changeover of processing equipment, performing all assigned predictive and preventive maintenance tasks, performing food safety verifications, troubleshooting, and resolving electrical/mechanical issues.

JOB TITLE: Licensed electrician / Apprentice

Hourly rate: $25.83 - $34.42 depending on qualifications.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Fully licensed industrial electrician. Consideration may be given to a recent graduate from a 40-week community college industrial electrical program.
- Applicants will be responsible for bringing their own hand tools and CSA approved footwear.
- Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to accept and embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with good organizing and coordinating skills.
- Strong working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Successfully work individually or collaboratively with others.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Observant and detail-minded with a natural sense of urgency.
- Effective Verbal and Written communication skills are essential.
- Previous experience with PLCs is considered an asset.
- Ability to interpret wiring schematics.
- Ability to interpret pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Successful completion of a 90-day training period.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for electrical breakdown and proactive repairs of all Florenceville Prepared Foods Facility equipment.
- Actively contribute to the "TEAM" by working diligently to correct and prevent any electrical/mechanical problems, especially where there is a safety or food safety risk.
- Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with production and maintenance colleagues.
- Must work closely with production to keep the line running with minimum downtime.
- Must comply with safe practices before working on equipment (e.g., Lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.)
- Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems effectively.
- Comply and promote food safety (Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP)
- Must report all food safety risks or safety problems.
- Identifying, detecting, and documenting all potential maintenance repair problems.
- Must be able and willing to promote continuous improvement of workplace safety.
- Observe equipment and component conditions while doing jobs and provide feedback as appropriate.
- Provide all information requested on feedback forms as part of completing jobs.
- Effectively use SAP system for work orders.
- Work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Perform all other duties as they arise.
