About the Role
As a Health & Safety Coordinator you will support the development implementation and continuous improvement of the plant’s safety and security programs. Reporting to the Safety Manager you will assist in injury prevention regulatory compliance crisis management safety inspections policy development and employee training. You will evaluate site conditions including ergonomic needs and noise-level compliance ensure corrective actions are implemented following safety audits and help maintain compliance with federal state/provincial municipal and company safety regulations. You will play a key role in fostering a positive safety culture and supporting operational teams in creating a safe compliant and engaged workplace.

Statement of Job
Responsible for assisting in the development coordination and management of the plant’s safety and security programs. This includes maintaining compliance with applicable federal state/provincial and municipal regulations managing safety processes conducting inspections and audits analyzing incident trends and supporting the Safety Manager in ensuring workplace safety ergonomic compliance and effective safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Programs & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to all relevant federal state provincial municipal and company safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain the McCain safety program and any local requirements to ensure compliance with company regulatory and customer food safety standards.
• Conduct regular Key Elements of Safety (KES) inspections.
• Perform safety audits and assist site leadership with implementing corrective actions within required timelines.
• Audit contractor safety programs including training safe work plans insurance requirements and permit completion.
Incident Prevention & Analysis
• Analyze safety interaction data incidents and injury trends to identify training and behavioral improvement opportunities.
• Assist supervisors in investigating workplace incidents and developing action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
Training & Employee Support
• Conduct Health and Safety training for both management and staff.
• Serve as a resource for employee safety committees.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare daily weekly and monthly reports on safety performance and operational metrics.
• Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of required safety documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
• Work across different shifts to support all teams as needed.
• Respond to calls outside regular working hours in the event of major injuries or safety incidents.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
