About the Job
Support the plant’s safety and security programs through day-to-day compliance activities, employee training, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. Assist in developing and maintaining health & safety policies, procedures, and reports, while ensuring alignment with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations. Help foster a safe, compliant, and injury-prevention-focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and adhere to all safety regulations and company standards
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify risks and ensure compliance
- Support incident investigations and help develop corrective actions
- Deliver health & safety training to employees and supervisors
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and prepare routine reports
- Assist with contractor safety compliance and permit management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve ergonomics, reduce noise exposure, and enhance overall workplace safety
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and corporate health & safety programs
- Work independently and within teams across all shifts as needed
- May be required to respond to incidents outside of regular working hours
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Certifications such as CSP, ASP, or similar are desired
- Experience with ISO Management Systems is an asset
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with EMIS platforms (e.g., Intelex) is a plus
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able and willing to cross-train and support other H&S initiatives as needed
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Able to communicate clearly across departments and shifts
- Experience facilitating training and promoting safe work practices
- Comfortable working in both office and production environments, including exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and chemicals
- Capable of lifting up to 65 lbs. and performing physical inspections as needed
- Must be able to obtain and sustain required certifications (e.g., forklift, H&S-specific credentials)

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 60,000 USD annually + Bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
