Full General Labourer at SL4 on Shift C 

Grade 1

Training requirements: On the job training

McCain Foods (Canada) is currently looking for General Labourer to join our team at the Grand Falls Specialty Line 4 Plant (SL4) 

DUTIES:

• Responsible for ensuring safety of self and co-workers. 

• Material handling of 19 kg boxes and bags.

• Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.

• Responsible for some sanitation duties

• Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required. 

• Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).

• Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s.

• Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in Safety Interaction program (Behavioral safety observations)

• Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environment

• Participate in Team meetings, as required. 

• Complete core curriculum E-learning courses

• All additional duties as they become assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Basic computer skills would be an asset.

• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees.

• Team player with excellent attendance.

• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly.

• Demonstrate continuous initiative and involvement.

• Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis. 

NOTE: This description constitutes the minimum requirements for the General Labourer Position. Other duties may be assigned at Management’s discretion.
