About the role. 

  

What you’ll be doing. 

  

As a General Laborer for our jalapeño pepper lines, you will be hands on every day as the frontline of our jalapeño popper appetizer production process, ensuring our snacks foods are made to the highest standards and are delivered with quality, safety, and the end customer in mind. Your day-to-day may consist of: 

  

  • Filling, sorting, inspecting, and packaging raw jalapeño peppers and finished goods to meet set quality and quantity standards 

  • Executing repetitive manual tasks such as turning over and placing peppers on machinery 

  • Keeping production work area and equipment clean and in working order - knowledge of machines and tools is necessary 

  • Completing documentation (digital and/or hardcopy) and providing updates to production leadership 

  

The ideal candidate for a role in production is hard-working, dependable, and adaptable to working on various production lines. A strong candidate for this role will also be able to work successfully with various moving mechanical parts, food fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noise levels. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required.   

  

This role has several shifts currently available: 2nd Shift (2-10PM) or 3rd Shift (10PM-6AM) Monday-Friday. Shift differential offered. 

  

What you’ll need to be successful. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • 1+ months of experience working in manufacturing within the last 12 months is required, 6+ months of experience working in food manufacturing strongly preferred 

  • Ability to work independently and with others 

  • Ability to independently read, comprehend, and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization   

  • Ability to independently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form 

  • Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance 

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations 

  • Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technology 

  • Ability to bend often and lift at least 50 pounds to various heights, ability to stand for up to 8 consecutive hours 

  • Ability to work with jalapeño peppers for the duration of scheduled shift

Compensation Package: $22.67 USD hourly + bonus eligibility 

  

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs. 

  

Shift Differential Pay: $1.50 USD hourly for 2nd Shift, $2.00 USD hourly for 3rd Shift
