Job Description:
About the Role.
The Field Manager is responsible and accountable for all aspects of potato agricultural operations and supply activities at the local plant site in Burley, Idaho. Through leading regional agricultural practices, the field manager will lead the new growth in the region by expanding strong strategic partnerships with the farming community.
Using best-in-class safety principles and talent development, the Field Manager will also be responsible for building a strong team of agriculture professionals, making the department an inclusive, diverse, and fun workplace. Helping support McCain's agriculture digital transformation, you will be using and refining data systems to successfully deliver breakthrough initiatives that deliver optimal potato raw material value, operational efficiency, and consumer-winning quality.
Accountabilities:
Support world-class safety programs through the implementation of regional best practices.
Drive grower relationships to support the growth in the supply of potatoes for the Burley site.
Partnering with Potato Supply Management, directly responsible for local market intelligence, risk assessment, and coordination of raw material purchase and utilization.
Directly accountable and responsible for the daily supply of raw materials aligned with facility needs.
Direct management, responsibility, and oversight of the local field department staff.
Directly accountable and responsible for a sustainable grower base that can meet the company's short and long-term growth goals.
Develop a yearly sustainable cost savings plan to maximize the growth agenda for McCain and grower partners.
Support the Ag Strategy team on McCain's new variety development program to optimize potato quality and drive regional yield improvements.
Develop a yearly potato contracting strategy using an updated economic cost of the production model.
Develop and manage Fiscal Year department budgets.
Deliver breakthrough initiatives that optimize raw material value, operational efficiency, and consumer-winning quality
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience, preferably within agricultural, manufacturing, and/or quality
Skills:
Experience developing grower partners in a growing market
Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and nurture strong cross-functional and departmental relationships
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
Negotiation and relationship management skills
Travel: Mostly local with within the growing region but an ability to travel as business needs require throughout North America.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Agriculture & Agronomy (West), this individual will oversee a local team, including field representatives and scale house attendants.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 -$130,000.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
