In the past 3-5 years, global digital systems have been implemented and enabled to capture large amounts of data from our growers and their fields. As part of this transformation, we are elevating the way that we use digital & data to drive value and enhance decision-making across our global agriculture business. Our key objective is to transform data into actionable insights and effective action plans.
McCain is an international company with a world-wide presence, with sourcing taking place in multiple key regions such as North America, South America, Europe, India, Australia-New Zealand, and South Africa. Within agriculture, there are some regional specificities and nuances which make the work more challenging. This position of Global Digital & Data Business Analyst will focus on the McCain Grower Relationship and Sourcing activity pillar, working closely with our internal regional teams and their grower partners.
We are seeking a curious, creative and innovative data-driven individual with a proven background in analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Global Agriculture Digital & Data Business Analyst will play a key role in integrating a data perspective into our agriculture business processes to drive sustainable raw supply, cultivate grower relationships, and enhance sustainability and re-generative practices. This role will be key to transform our agriculture business to be a data-led business around the world. You will work with cross-functional and regional teams, as well as our technology team to support the digital transformation roadmap. This role will focus on building operational metrics, operational reports and processes to leverage data for actionable insights and ensure decision-makers in Grower relationship and Sourcing can make data-driven decisions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define the right process indicators to drive improvement actions that are aligned with McCain’s Agriculture efficiency goals.
Map the data points that are required to calculate performance indicators.
Act as a global GRM (Grower Relationship Management) data lead to ensure consistency and standardization of key business data. Be the custodian of the GRM business data model.
Serve as a data subject-matter expert on GRM & sourcing business processes.
When global digital systems are implemented, collaborate with the global technology and analytics team to identify data sources and ensure a seamless process for accessing the right data points.
When global digital systems are not implemented, collaborate with our regional teams to define ways to track data points in a business acceptable manner.
Propose with the Global Product Manager in charge of this pillar, the analytics and reporting strategy through PowerBI dashboards and standard reporting tools.
Design and oversee the development of intuitive, user-friendly operational dashboards that meet business needs and drive continuous improvements to increase user engagement and adoption.
Develop wireframes of analytics outputs to ensure alignment of business requirements.
Support user training and adoption of reporting tools.
Build regional business relationships to identify value-driven analytics.
Distill data to share actionable operational insights with global and regional Ag stakeholders, including GRM agriculture scorecards. Be prepared to improve data literacy across all regions.
Work with the Data Governance team to identify and support resolving data quality issues at the source and in a timely manner.
Lead medium-scale data-driven projects, in its scope of responsibility, closely collaborating with the technology, analytics and regional teams.
KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
Educational background: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data & Analytics, or a related field. A master's degree can be a plus.
Data Analysis: experience with data analysis, business data modeling, and data visualization tools. Familiarity with SQL and other data query languages is an asset.
Power BI: 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Power Bi will be a plus.
Project Management: experience in project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of data and analytics experience.
Experience in conducting business process owner interviews, facilitating requirement gathering sessions, documenting functional data model, and creating user stories.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to identify business needs and propose effective solutions.
Experience working in a regional (multi-country) or global role.
Familiarity with the food/agriculture industry, as this can help in understanding specific business requirements and processes.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
