Job Description:
 

For over 100 years, McCain Produce Inc., a private family-owned company and an industry leader in quality, has delivered top-quality potatoes across the globe satisfying cravings for one of the world's most popular vegetables.  

We are currently seeking a Celox Operator at our Monquart, NB packing shed location.  This full-time, hourly, position reports directly to the Packing Shed Manager. Benefits include paid vacation, pension and a generous extended vision and dental package. 

Duties include:

• Operate Celox RV12 Control Panel to optimize and consistently produce quality graded product
• Assist with inspection and maintenance of Optical Grader when required to discover functionality issues.
• Conduct minor repairs and cleaning in conjunction with Maintenance to optimize equipment reliability.
• Clear jams and troubleshoot with adjustments as necessary
• Attend to reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Train and give ongoing mentoring to all Technician staff.
• Be involved with planning for improvement projects as allocated by management.
• Lead in process streamlining and development for the Pack Shed.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery and equipment when required.
• Keep records of maintenance/work undertaken, report on issues and track due dates for servicing.
• Use all equipment safely when authorized according to all company and Health and Safety regulations.
• Ensure all company H&S policies and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and protocols are always carried out.
• Complete administrative, record-keeping, or compliance tasks as required.
• Assist with cleanup as required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by your manager.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent attendance
• 1+ years of automated production machine operation experience
• Sound mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining, repairing, and operating machinery and equipment.
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently, seeking out additional tasks during downtime
• Experience with NEWTECH sorting/grading equipment and software is an asset.
• Experience in a packhouse or food manufacturing environment is an asset.

• Understand packaging requirements and ability to carry out routine and more complex tasks.
• Experience training and/or supervising others is an asset.

• Available to work up to six days per week during peak seasons.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have good vision.
• Be able to perform a physically demanding role; able to work on your feet all day.
• Must be able to lift 22.5kg/50lb intermittently.
