JOB PURPOSE: 

Reporting to the Director Finance Produce & Fertilizer, the Accounting Support position is responsible for a range of general accounting and administrative functions essential to the efficient operation of the Finance & Administration department. The role supports critical accounting processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory reconciliations, and month-end reporting. The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy and organization, contribute to the integrity of financial data, and provide reliable support to both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this role will assist in maintaining smooth office operations and may provide backup support for administrative functions at other locations as required.  

  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Month end and mid-month account analysis  

  • Inventory reconciliations 

  • AR Invoicing, maintain sales register  

  • AP Inputting

  • Data entry for Crop Protection Product Programs 

  • Pick up and sort mail daily 

  • Process petty cash sales and daily bank deposits 

  • Monitor general company email mailbox 

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned 

  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES: 

  • Pursuing education in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration (minimum two year community college degree in Accounting or Business Administration)  

  • Assist in completion of weekly payroll processing   

  • Thorough, detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy. 

  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written)  

  • Understand sources of information and is able to obtain information effectively.  

  • Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors - ability to build strong relationships. 

  • Excellent organization and planning skills. 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks (effective time management skills) 

  • Understanding and exposure to accounting software, experience with ERP systems considered an asset.  

  • Strong working ability in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.  

  

OTHER INFORMATION 

  • Flexibility to provide back up support for Shipper/Admin duties at our Lansdowne, NB location.
