The Opportunity:

 

The Sr Finance Analyst will work closely with the business and will be responsible to provide financial analysis supporting indirect purchasing and Freight & Storage, including variance investigation and help identify risks and opportunities. The position also supports vendor spend analysis and various cost saving initiatives by providing financial expertise and support. The individual will partner with indirect purchasing, distribution, and transportation team members and other cross-functional partners.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Perform month-end activities including accruals, allocations, adjusting entries, etc
  • Prepare and distribute accurate and timely weekly and monthly reports, including variances explanation
  • Perform in depth analysis on Freight & Storage variances (volume and spend) and provide commentary on key trends to management
  • Perform in depth analysis on packaging and ingredient spending trends and purchase price variances/
  • Lead annual budget process for Freight & Storage and Packaging and Ingredient spend and collaborate with the Distribution team to ensure the budget is complete, accurate and on time
  • Maintain SAP pricing for Freight & Storage and Packaging and Ingredient rates and work closely with commercial teams on new business opportunities
  • Work with cross-functional teams to analyze, track and measure ongoing cost saving initiatives to help them achieve financial and business targets
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, analyses and other duties as assigned to support strategic decision-making

 

What You ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in a finance / business related program is required
  • 3+ years of progressive finance experience in an ERP environment (SAP preferred)
  • Accounting designation or working towards one
  • Strong analytical background and comfortable with complex financial analysis, detail oriented
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with cost accounting, budgeting process and internal controls
