Job Description
The Opportunity:
The incumbent provides support to the Plant in the areas of hourly recruitment and some salaried recruitment pertaining to screening, interviewing, training, layoffs and recalls, job postings, and attendance based on policies and guidelines in a consistent manner

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Coordinates all aspects of recruiting including applicant selection, interview, reference checking and job offers
- Develops advertising strategies and ads and coordinates job fairs for hourly recruiting
- Leads the Orientation Process for new employees including setting up personal record files, forms completion and distribution thereof to payroll, benefit carriers, and union office
- Develops and coordinates job postings and the job posting system in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Leads and develops hourly training
- Promotes positive employee relations and goodwill
- Monitors and maintains attendance records for all hourly employees by receipt of daily reports from supervisors and enters into databases (spreadsheet and PWA). Compiles monthly absenteeism reports for plant and MCR purposes
- Sources and recruits summer students for the peak vacation period
- Coordinates locker use and performs periodic inspections in accordance with HACCP and collective agreement provisions
- Other Duties as Assigned
What You ll Bring:
- Working towards or completion of a post-secondary education program, diploma or degree in Human Resources management
- Excellent computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook with a passion for accuracy
- Strong team player with problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent Communication and Written skills
- Ability to get things done within a decentralized environment with minimal supervision
- Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and enjoys challenging oneself
