Maizex Seeds, a wholly Canadian-owned business and one of the fastest growing seed businesses in Canada, is seeking a highly motivated individual to support our research trial program in Eastern Canada. 

The Role: As part of our research team, you will be responsible for supporting our pre-commercial and agronomy trial program based in Blenheim, Ontario, in the following areas:

• Finding farm cooperators and managing relationships with these cooperators through the year.
• Maintaining and operating plot and farm equipment including but not exclusive to planting, harvest, and transportation equipment.
• Plot layout and planting for corn and soybeans.
• Pest control and other agronomy applications including herbicides and fungicides as required in corn and soybeans.
• Taking field notes (emergence, flowering, black layer, soybean maturity ratings, etc.).
• Sample management as required including leaf tissue, grain, silage, etc.
• Pre-commercial seed counting and packet preparation and management.
• Winter and spring nursery seed preparation including shelling, inventory, germ testing, etc.
• Strip trial data processing and posting.

Role Requirements:

• 2 or more years experience in small plot management including planting and harvest activities.
• Experience in research plot equipment maintenance.
• Current grower pesticide license.
• G license with ability to obtain restricted A license.
• Basic computer software skills including Excel and Word.
