Senior Production Manager – Namibia

Divundu, Kavango East | On-site | Full-time

Expected Start: Q1 2026 (earlier preferred)

Namibia Berries, a pioneering large-scale hydroponic blueberry producer and part of the Loxworth Capital group, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Production Manager to lead operations at our farm in Divundu. This is a rare opportunity to build something significant: lead high-impact fruit production in a modern, ESG-aligned agribusiness operating to international export standards, while living in one of Africa’s most spectacular natural environments. For the right candidate, this role offers the unique combination of meaningful agricultural impact, career advancement within a growing portfolio, and an exceptional lifestyle that most professionals never access.

Your Role

You will take full operational responsibility for farm production activities, from pre-planting through to harvest, ensuring all systems, people, and outputs meet global benchmarks. This is a hands-on leadership role in a data-enabled environment, requiring daily coordination of people, infrastructure, timelines, and resources. As a key member of the operations team, you’ll have significant autonomy to shape systems, implement innovations, and directly influence the trajectory of a high-growth agribusiness with expansion potential across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Management: Plan and supervise all on-site activities from land prep, planting, and crop care to harvest.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of irrigation, netting, fertigation, and post-harvest facilities.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coach field supervisors, permanent teams, and seasonal workers to maintain high productivity and morale.
  • Budget & Resource Planning: Support the planning and tracking of production budgets, labour allocation, and resource use.
  • Data-Driven Operations: Use digital tools, farm management software, and AI-based systems to track block performance, identify issues early, and optimise yield.
  • Compliance: Enforce Global GAP, SMETA, food safety, and hygiene standards across operations.
  • ESG Alignment: Uphold sustainable practices in line with our ESG goals, including water management and responsible use of inputs.
  • Supplier Coordination: Manage external suppliers, local service providers, and maintenance teams to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with agronomy, post-harvest, ESG, and technology teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience managing commercial blueberry production operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams, plan operations, and manage across multiple priorities
  • Experience in hydroponics or protected cropping (advantageous but not required)
  • Familiarity with digital farm tools and precision agriculture practices
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to live on-site in Divundu

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Annual performance bonus tied to production targets
  • Accommodation provided, vehicle
  • A senior leadership role with clear progression pathways within the Loxworth Capital portfolio, offering exposure to international markets and cross-portfolio opportunities across Africa and Europe
  • Work in one of Namibia’s most spectacular regions: Divundu lies on the Okavango River with year-round fishing and birding, bordering Bwabwata and close to Chobe and Mahango National Parks -  a wildlife paradise with elephants, hippos, and the Big Five on your doorstep. Weekend safari opportunities that many pay thousands for.
  • A chance to contribute to sustainable farming, and economic transformation in northern Namibia
