Job Description:


As a Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) for Shoppers Drug Mart, you are responsible for attracting critical pharmacy talent for Associate Owners in your region. You will act as a strategic partner to provide expert guidance and recommendations on talent attraction strategies in a highly competitive talent market. In this role, you will continually partner with Associate Owners, District Managers and other leaders to develop and implement recruitment strategies as well as represent Shoppers Drug Mart at recruitment events throughout your designated region. 


In addition, the TAS will support store openings and Associate Owner selection in their region. 


What you'll do: 

  • Talent Attraction - You will identify and apply creative sourcing strategies to attract top talent at all levels within our corporate environment. You will develop cost effective, efficient, proactive, and innovative solutions to meet your Associate Owners' recruiting needs. 
  • Campus Recruitment - You will support campus recruitment strategies to attract pharmacy students, by collaborating with student associations, planning and leading campus events, and developing pipelines for pharmacy students. In addition, you will support pharmacy students and Associate Owners build a strong talent bench through the Shoppers Drug Mart Scholarship Program 
  • International Hiring - You will manage international recruitment efforts, including candidate sourcing, assessment, and coordination with immigration and licensing partners, to support hiring in hard-to-fill roles. 
  • Relationship Building - You will create and maintain working relationships with Store Resource Teams, Associate Owners and HRBP's to understand current and future recruitment needs and determine optimum sourcing strategies. 
  • Tracking & Reporting - You will use multiple tools such as Workday to maintain information during the recruitment process; ensuring all information is current and activity is updated on a regular basis to report weekly to regional leaders.

What you bring: 

  • 3+ years of recruitment experience with a strong preference to candidates who have previous experience working in a recruitment agency model.  
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to develop quick, meaningful connections with candidates. 
  • Proven experience identifying passive candidates through their understanding of talent sourcing techniques. Comfort and experience with strong direct sourcing (headhunting, cold calling, in person). 
  • Strong social media acumen to promote employer brands, recruitment events and career opportunities through multiple social media channels. 
  • Ability to optimally manage a corporate portfolio consisting of 30+ vacancies/requisitions concurrently. 
  • Exposure to an applicant tracking system (ATS), Workday preferred. 
  • A current driver's license and a vehicle are required. 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
