The Labour Management team is responsible for maintaining and evolving the labour program that supports our stores across the country. We work in close partnership with the Operations team to stay in tune with what s happening on the ground, ensuring our labour models reflect real-time operational needs and business priorities.

 

As store processes evolve and new programs are introduced, we adapt and refine our labour strategies to ensure optimal labour allocation across all departments. Our goal is to deploy labour spend effectively while supporting excellent customer service and efficient store operations.

About The Role

 

As the Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Enterprise Labour Strategy. Reporting to the Director of Labour Management, you will lead a team of Industrial Engineers and manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives that enhance labour efficiency and operational productivity across our retail stores. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend hands-on operational insight with data-driven decision-making. You will collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, lead change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. What You ll Do

  •  Lead and coach a team of Industrial Engineers to develop and continuously refine engineered labour standards, labour models, and productivity benchmarks.
  •  Manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives affecting store labour, from business case development and financial modeling to implementation and post-mortem analysis.
  •  Build, validate, and maintain labour models and scheduling tools using the Workforce Management System.
  •  Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Store Operations, Merchandising, and IT to assess labour impact and support enterprise decision-making.
  •  Conduct labour impact assessments, develop full contribution business cases, and influence key business decisions related to new programs, initiatives, and store processes.
  •  Drive change management efforts to support the successful adoption of new labour standards, tools, and processes throughout the enterprise.
  •  Design and deliver training and enablement content to support internal teams in understanding and applying labour engineering practices.
  •  Identify opportunities to improve store productivity and operational efficiency, using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  •  Utilize advanced Excel functions and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to analyze large data sets and create actionable insights and reports.

  •  Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related field (P.Eng or equivalent designation considered an asset).
  •  3+ years of experience applying industrial engineering principles in a business or retail environment.
  •  Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  •  Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor, with experience managing large data sets.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong knowledge of labour forecasting, productivity measurement, and process improvement methodologies.
  •  Experience building and delivering data-driven presentations to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  •  Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage ambiguity, and deliver against tight deadlines.
  •  Technical skills in SQL, SAS, Power BI, and Tableau are considered strong assets.
  •  Hands-on experience with Workforce Management systems is an asset.
  •  MOST certification is a plus.
  •  Occasional travel to store locations may be required.
