As a Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) for Technology & Analytics, you will hold a highly influential and strategic position, serving as a critical partner to leaders within one of our most dynamic and innovative divisions. This role demands a seasoned HR professional capable of translating complex business objectives into actionable HR strategies, driving organizational effectiveness, and fostering a high-performance culture within a rapidly evolving technological and agile environment. You will be instrumental in shaping our talent strategies and ensuring our workforce is equipped to achieve ambitious business goals and sustain our competitive advantage.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Assist in the development and implementation of advanced HR strategies, including organizational design, operating model optimization, and complex change management initiatives that directly support the strategic priorities of the Technology & Analytics division. Leverage sound judgment and deep HR acumen to drive these critical deliverables.
  • Business Integration & Impact: Proactively identify, analyze, and diagnose critical human capital needs arising from sophisticated business strategies. Lead the analysis of client needs and influence the direction for new or revised HR services, programs, and operational plans based on the business long-term strategies. Align HR strategic objectives to add significant value to the client, leading through complex issues that arise from broad internal or external challenges.
  • Talent Ecosystem Management: Design, drive, and execute comprehensive talent strategies for attraction, retention, and development. Partner closely with talent acquisition and Leaders to proactively attract key talent, as well as retain and develop high potential and high performing colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right job for succession planning, current, and future business needs.
  • Performance & Culture Catalyst: Champion a performance-driven culture by providing expert coaching and strategic guidance to leaders. Play a leadership role in recognizing barriers to success and facilitating proactive solutions. Coach and mentor clients on talent reviews, performance management, succession planning, and building a robust talent pipeline for high potentials (HIPOs).
  • Complex Program Deployment: Drive the strategic deployment and successful adoption of complex HR projects and cross-functional programs, fostering deep and influential partnerships with key business leaders and stakeholders.
  • DEI & Engagement Champion: Lead efforts to promote, educate, and train on advanced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies and recognition programs at the client level. Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement, Blue Culture, and our b3 initiatives by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own colleague engagement and the sustainment of culture.
  • HR Team Development: Act as a key contributor to the development and growth of the broader HR team through effective training, coaching, and strong team collaboration.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Provide expert counsel on HR policies and practices, ensuring rigorous adherence to applicable government laws and regulations, specifically ESA and the Human Rights Code, proactively mitigating organizational risk.
  • Trusted Advisor & Colleague Advocate: Serve as a coach and confidante to Leaders around people and organizational issues, leadership development, and act as a strategic advocate for colleagues.
  • Travel: Flexibility to travel to other Loblaw corporate locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as required.

 

What You Bring:

  • Significant Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive, strategic HR experience, with a demonstrated track record of success in HR Business Partnering within large, complex organizations.
  • Advanced HR Knowledge: Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline, preferably with a CHRP or CHRL designation.
  • Business Acumen & Agility: Strong business acumen demonstrated by successfully supporting previous Technology client groups in a fast-paced, agile environment. Ability to interpret conceptual business or project objectives and assess their impact on HR to define and articulate an inspiring future vision/state clearly, even without having all the details.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability in planning and strategic support to translate complex business initiatives and projects with moderate to high degree of organizational impact into a clear, consistent, and systematic HR Strategy.
  • Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership ability, exceptional relationship development, influencing, and persuasion skills. Comfort presenting complex business issues to Leaders and Executives in a clear and compelling manner, and an excellent facilitator of action plans.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytics Prowess: Strong analytic skills that allow you to build a compelling story, backed by data that enables recommendations, and a superior ability to problem-solve complex issues. Ability to lead multiple, competing strategic priorities to execution.
  • Collaboration & Results: A detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented style with demonstrated success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a team player.
  • Integrity & Discretion: Proven influencing, judgment, decision-making, and cooperative problem-solving skills. Strong integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Client-Centricity: Exceptional commitment to meeting client needs, with a strong sense of urgency.
