Job  Description:

 

The Merchandise Planning Manager is responsible for leading pre-season planning and in-season management within the Joe Fresh Planning and Analytics team. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct pre-season analysis, support buy sign-off, forecast financial results, identify promotional and markdown opportunities, and manage seasonal inventory. The position reports directly to the Director, Merchandise Planning.

 

Top Priorities & Accountabilities:

  • Build an accurate merchandise plan that will meet financial and category strategies.
  • Play a key role in quarterly Buy sign off process.
  • Identifies opportunities and risks in-season and leads the development of actionable solutions to improve results.
  • Analyzes historical results and conduct postmortems to share learnings across the organization.
  • Play a key role in the markdown process and connects the impacts of clearance to the forecast.
  • Present findings and insights to senior leaders and other team members in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching for team members.
  • Project involvement in system enhancements/implementations.

 

Role Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience in a planning function.
  • Previous financial forecasting and analysis experience with a strong understanding of retail math.
  • Ability to think strategically and interpret complex data to recommend changes and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to gather and manipulate data from multiple sources to develop reporting and analysis.
  • Superior computer skills (MS Office, advance level Excel).
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to engage colleagues and communicate effectively.
  • Accepts coaching with a positive outlook and has a willingness to grow.

 

Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience leading a team a plus.
  • Experience within a large, apparel retailer preferred
