Role Mandate

As a Marketing Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our marketing ecosystem. This position is central to ensuring the seamless operation of our marketing technology stack and empowering the successful execution of marketing campaigns and product management lifecycle initiatives. You will be instrumental in driving continuous process improvement, leveraging your expertise in marketing automation, CRM, ERP systems, data management, and analytics to meet evolving organizational needs and achieve core objectives. What You Will Do

 

Technology & Compliance Oversight

  • Manage daily operations of the marketing and brand technology stack.
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to drive adoption, optimize utilization, and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Enforce adherence to established rules and processes by business teams.
  • Directly contribute to the strategic goals of the Future of Marketing & Brands.

 

Process Optimization & Governance

  • Champion process adherence and continuous improvement throughout campaign building and product management lifecycles.
  • Use robust governance reporting to identify opportunities to improve business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure streamlined and smooth operational workflows.

 

Data Integrity & Governance

  • Uphold the highest standards of data quality and integrity across all marketing systems.
  • Develop and implement strong data governance policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee reliable data availability for informed decision-making.

 

Campaign & Product Lifecycle Enablement

  • Provide essential technical support and expert guidance to marketing and product teams.
  • Empower teams to effectively leverage technology platforms and processes.

 

Performance Reporting & Insights

  • Partner with analytics teams to define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify trends and insights from data regularly.
  • Ensure marketing goals and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are met annually.

Training & Knowledge Management

  • Oversee the development and governance of comprehensive training programs and documentation.
  • Equip business teams with the knowledge to effectively use marketing and brand technologies.

Strategic Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with key internal teams (e.g., Loblaw Digital, Loblaw Technology, Marketing, Brands, Loblaw Media).
  • Advocate for Marketing and Brand s technology needs to ensure access to resources and inputs.
  • Understand Loblaw s existing capabilities and champion Marketing s priorities with technology and vendor partners.
  • Serve as the voice of the Marketing and Brand department.

 

Innovation & Best Practices

  • Proactively identify and promote leading practices and innovative technological approaches.
  • Elevate Loblaw s marketing capabilities to a best-in-class standard.

 

What We Are Looking For

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Marketing Operations, Project Management, or similar roles, ideally within large, complex organizations with exposure to executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in Marketing, Analytics, Operations Management, Business Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive strategies, roadmaps, and action plans that deliver key marketing achievements.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling presentations that articulate marketing strategy and vision, securing executive alignment and support.
  • Demonstrated expertise with various Martech platforms and tools, including Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Analytics platforms (e.g., Looker, Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Adobe Analytics), Creative Optimization tools, and Media Activation platforms.
  • Solid experience in project management, go-to-market strategies, and change leadership.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Workfront, Jira, Confluence, and MS Projects.
  • PMP designation is considered a strong asset.
