About Our Team

 

The Labour Management team is responsible for maintaining and evolving the labour program that supports our stores across the country. We work in close partnership with the Operations team to stay in tune with what s happening on the ground, ensuring our labour models reflect real-time operational needs and business priorities.

 

As store processes evolve and new programs are introduced, we adapt and refine our labour strategies to ensure optimal labour allocation across all departments. Our goal is to deploy labour spend effectively while supporting excellent customer service and efficient store operations.

About The Role

As the Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will play a critical role in advancing our Enterprise Labour Strategy by owning and delivering labour engineering solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency across retail stores. Sitting between technical execution and strategic influence, this role provides a unique opportunity to lead high-impact projects, partner cross-functionally, and apply engineering principles to drive continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of engineered labour standards for specific departments, conducting labour assessments, and supporting major initiatives through analytical modeling and operational insight. You will also contribute to team knowledge sharing and quality assurance, playing a key role in enabling the success of others on the team.

 

What You ll Do

  •  Own the end-to-end development, validation, and maintenance of engineered labour standards (using MOST methodology) for assigned store departments.
  •  Lead labour assessments for operational changes, new store initiatives, and process redesigns, providing data-driven recommendations.
  •  Build and maintain labour models and scheduling tools in the Workforce Management System to reflect accurate, current operational processes.
  •  Collaborate cross-functionally with Store Operations, Finance, Merchandising, and IT to evaluate labour impacts and influence decision-making.
  • Contribute to team-wide efforts by reviewing deliverables, sharing best practices, and supporting the professional development of peers through knowledge exchange.
  •  Analyze large data sets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL to identify trends, flag risks, and surface opportunities for productivity improvements.
  •  Support change management and rollout of new labour standards and tools through effective documentation, communication, and field engagement.
  •  Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize labour and store performance.
  •  Conduct in-store time studies and validations to ensure accuracy and sustainability of engineered standards.

  •  Bachelor s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  •  2 4 years of experience applying industrial engineering principles in a business, retail, or operational environment.
  •  Practical experience with engineered labour standards; MOST certification is an asset.
  •  Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel; experience with SQL, Power BI, or similar tools is preferred.
  •  Familiarity with workforce management systems and labour forecasting methodologies.
  •  Experience working cross-functionally to support operational or process improvement initiatives.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to store locations for validation or support..
