Job Description:
 

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, Associate Support, and the incumbent is responsible for providing accounting services for a set of stores. The main duties include completing the associate changeover packages and the year-end settlements and include interpreting and analyzing store financial information.  The person will also provide direct support to the stores (email & telephone and field resources) and communicate with various internal departments at central office.

 

What You ll Do:

  • Prepare the associates changeover files inclusive of the completion & delivery of a tax package. The incumbent is accountable for the accuracy of all the assets/ liabilities transferred between old and new associates; Take the ownership on pending issues and follow up to completion.
  • Review and analyze the Periodic optional equity and the Paid Services results for stores.
  • Prepare annually Associates year end settlement for stores & delivery of financial results that will support the preparation of tax packages with the external accountants.
  • Prepare the Balance sheet account analysis, including reconciliations and variance analysis to prior periods balances.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing associate draw accounts and equity position periodically; to identify any potential risks and accounting errors before closing the period.
  • Responsible to prepare the plan and forecast for certain P&L accounts.  Prepare and submit periodic variances analysis to Manager for review.
  • Assist in selected projects assigned by management to improve processes and ensure smooth flow of information and continuity. Proactively identify the need for new reports/analysis to better support the current business activities and any new initiatives.
  • Investigate and respond to store queries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support Associate Earning calculations and Rebate Reserve report on periodic and annually basis
  • Other duties, ad hoc requests and projects as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

 

What You ll Need:

  • University degree in Business or Accounting.
  • Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience for finance, accounting and business experience.
  • Efficient, fast learner, ability to work under pressure, team player, autonomous.
  • Advanced skills in Excel; knowledge of Macro/Python is considered an asset.
  • SAP knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze data to identify and quantify business opportunities/risks.
