Quality Assurance Technician

The Quality Control Technician will play a critical role in supporting the Pet Food division by ensuring compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This position is responsible for upholding and enforcing current quality and food safety systems, The Technician will help ensure operational conformance to consumer and customer expectations within the pet food industry.

Duty or Area of Responsibility (%)
40% - Collect, label and retain samples for positive release products, extra testing requirements, NIR, HRCI testing, sight samples, etc. Other responsibilities include enforcing sampling protocols, delivering samples to the lab, verifying retains vs. reference samples.
10% - Assist with investigations into customer complaint issues, driving continuous improvement at the site level.
30% - Perform routine quality checks on pet food product to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Ensure all customer-required documents (CoAs,CoCs, SDS, BOLs, placards, etc.) accompany the product prior to shipping.
20% - Assist with commercial feed and pesticide state registrations.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
1-3 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or administrative support
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in the pet food, feed, or food industry
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and ability to learn quality management systems (QMS).

Shift: 1st Shift - Mon - Fri; Hours are flexible
Salary: $38,080 - $57,120
In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges
