Accounting Manager

We're hiring an Accounting Manager for our WinField United Business Unit. In this position, you will lead the general accounting, reporting, and financial controls and procedures for the Seed portfolio. This position requires a strong, adaptable leader who is results-oriented and possesses robust accounting and analytical skills.

This role is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hill, Minnesota (Hybrid work arrangement each week)

Primary responsibilities include:
Provide direct support and leadership to ensure the accuracy of financial statements for Winfield United's Seed portfolio. Key accounting areas include vendor rebates, marketing programs, return reserves, royalty/trait expenses, and other specialty areas within the business.

Oversee the month-end close process and financial reporting for WinField United, including establishing timelines for deliverables and managing the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Coordinate and monitor preparation of supporting schedules for quarter-end and year-end requests from management and external auditors.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

Provide leadership, professional development, and coaching to the accounting staff of three, including conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews. Offer guidance and feedback, foster a collaborative team environment, and monitor individual workloads, adjusting as needed.

Collaborate with business partners to improve efficiencies and lead or support process improvement initiatives and other projects.

Experience & Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related required. CPA preferred.

Minimum of six years of progressive finance/accounting experience required; public accounting experience preferred.

Prior leadership experience highly desired

Knowledge and proficiency in JD Edwards or other ERP systems, along with excel, PowerBi, Hyperion

Competencies:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to build effective teams and strong relationships with peers and internal stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration and driving innovation.

$91,120 $136,680. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
