Job Description:

KWS Seeds LLC. is looking for a Senior Quality Control Supervisor to join the team in Tangent, OR! The Senior Quality Control Supervisor supervises all quality control/seed testing activities, while developing and streamlining our QC Department.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise, train and cross-train QC employees to work efficiently with QC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify, monitor and report sub-standard seed quality
  • Responsible for all QC SOPs
  • Provide QC support to all departments
  • Keep current with all processing changes, seed testing procedures, laws and regulations
  • Define and run experiments to improve QC SOPs and investigate seed quality issues
  • Responsible for all QC operations/testing, timelines, reporting and accuracy
  • Responsible for all QC seasonal staff, including training, scheduling, periodic review of quality of work through the use of blind controls
  • Conduct annual evaluations of personnel performance
  • Responsible for lab supplies and maintenance of testing equipment
  • Responsible for the documentation and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Responsible for the documentation and confirmation of test consistency through the use of controls
  • Responsible for a safe working environment and following safety policy
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Occasionally travel and/or drive on behalf of the business.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS in Agriculture or related field required
  • QC Supervisor experience required
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines when under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Good work attendance history
  • Ability to master knowledge of seed testing lab operations and determination of seed quality
  • Proficiency with MS Office and data management
