Research Technician

King’s AgriSeeds, Inc. is a forage seed company that is focused on high quality forages, cover crops and alternative crops.  We serve over 170 dealers and their customers from Virginia to Maine.  Conducting research and determining best products in our selling area is essential for King’s AgriSeeds success.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to Agronomist.  Assist Research Agronomist at research farm and other plots.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Preparing seed trials
• Applying fertility
• Field preparation
• Spray applications
• Planting fields
• Mowing
• Harvesting
• Data collection
• Assist with coordinating, planting & harvest of off-site strip tests.
• Assist data entry, analysis and reports in research database and excel
• Attend training from extension and other sources to increase knowledge base.
• Be available for overnight travel.
• Participate in the spring, summer and winter shows as requested
• Provide assistance to any and all other functions and duties requested.

Wages and Workload:

• Compensation will be based on skill level and experience. 
• Christian holidays and most major holidays are observed. 
• Travel to dealer locations and other activities including some overnight stays will be required. 
• Vacation and sick days are flexible; however, extended periods of time off during peak workload will be highly discouraged.

Qualifications:

• Applicant must be a team oriented person with good communication and personal skills including agronomy. 
• An agricultural degree and farm background is preferred.
