Scova Farms Ltd. requires 2 Farm Supervisors to provide the following duties: 

Job details:

Location of work: On site

Salary: $28.00/hour for 40 to 50 hours per week

Vacancies: 2 Vacancies

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time

Start date: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Early morning, morning, evening, day, Overtime Required

Tasks:

• Develop specific plans to prioritize
• Diagnose livestock health issues
• Handling animals
• Monitoring animal health
• Monitor the calving process
• Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly
• Treat livestock health issues
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Formulate feeding program
• Maintain livestock performance records
• Maintain quality control and production records
• Select livestock for sale
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
• Maintain work records and logs
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Perform general farm duties

Supervision:  5 to 10 people

Work Setting: Rural area, remote location

Equipment and machinery experience: Milking system, storage and silage system, tractor.

Area of Specialization: Cattle breeding, dairy cattle

Job Requirements:

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: minimum 2 years experience

Languages: English

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, attention to detail.
