Hutchison is a manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler of lumber, livestock and equine equipment products sold to farm and ranch suppliers and lumber yards. Sales of product and goods to customers, retailers, wholesalers and/or cooperatives. Work requires substantial knowledge of items sold, sales to existing customers, contracting new business and continuous communication to keep good customer relations by phone contacts and traveling to customer locations. THE TERRITORY FOR THIS POSITION IS INDIANA/OHIO/MICHIGAN.
• Ability to promote HW livestock equipment and farm and ranch products to be distributed throughout the territory.
• Represent Hutchison with a high standard of performance, conduct, and professionalism at all times
• Out of the office phone sales and traveling sales (approved by supervisor)
• Maintain regular business hours and accessible during the day
• Ability to work out of the Manchester, IA office location as needed
• Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and transportation
• Recommend products to customers’ needs and interests
• Estimate or quote prices, and delivery dates
• Consult with clients after sales and providing ongoing support
• Providing support to existing customers
• Problem solving and good sound business decision making
• Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, taking direction of immediate supervisor and vice president of sales
• Monitor market conditions and competitors’ products prices, and sales
• Perform administrative duties, such as filling out daily call reports, preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, completing expense account reports, and meeting weekly and monthly goals.
