Homestead Co-op is hiring a Full Time Agro Manager at our Austin Agro Site location.

What you’ll do:
Operating in a diverse and highly competitive retail environment, the Agro Manager provides overall leadership for Homestead Co op’s Agro Department, which encompasses fertilizer, seed, chemicals, agro equipment, and agronomy services. This role is accountable for planning and executing the department’s day to day operations, ensuring that all programs and initiatives align with budgeted goals, organizational objectives and vision of Homestead Co-op. The Agro Manager fosters strong customer relationships while maintaining strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational policies, procedures, and standards. This position requires some out-of-town travel. Travel may be required for seminars, conferences or competition checks.

  • You have a degree or diploma in agriculture.
  • You are able to work both independently and as a member of a highly motivated team.
  • You have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
  • You are highly motivated.
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have 3-5 years previous experience in progressive and successful retail management.
  • Must have or willing to obtain the following certifications and designations: Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), CCA/P.Ag., pesticide applicator and dealer licenses, seed treatment license, WHMIS certification, and other required regulatory credentials. Must also be willing to operate, or obtain licensing for, a forklift, skid steer, and Class 3 vehicles. First Aid certification is considered an asset
  • Must be able to work flexible hours depending on the demands of the season.
