POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Sr. Financial Analyst - Inventory will be an Inventory Finance subject matter expert. They will develop complex modeling & analysis for AMPA manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution centers to help drive strategic business decisions. They will have in-depth knowledge and experience with product life cycle evaluation, average weighted cost & financial analysis. The Sr. Financial Analyst will lead and develop detail reporting for inventory reserves, shrink and inventory turns. They must have the ability to work cross functionally while influencing business partners to drive process improvements & cost reduction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
-Develop and implement inventory financial reporting to drive strategic business decisions.
-Partner with HMC Inc. Accounting to ensure costing impact to balance sheet and income statement accounts are reconciled, and financial impact is analyzed and understood by the business.
-Identify inventory trends/variances and explain the risks and opportunities.
-Challenge and document current key processes and identify best practices.
-Drive Cost/Benefit/Root Cause analysis and provide recommendations & action plans.
-Ownership of inventory reporting, cost analysis, and balance sheet and P&L financials related to inventory.
-Develop and maintain a rolling inventory forecasting model.
-Participation in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including production and analysis of key inventory and Gross Margin metrics.
-Liaise with relevant and associated areas and groups within the business process to establish, support, and maintain business relationships and organizational effectiveness.
-Development of timely & accurate reporting, scorecards, and metrics to support productivity and profitability to include Inventory Turns, Gross Margin performance, overhead absorption, Inventory Reserves, and Discard & Destruction activity.
-Provide guidance to other departments on Inventory related matters.
-Provide Ad Hoc Analysis as needed.
-Participation in Cross-Functional Teams and Projects.
