Field Marketer Interns - Summer 2026

 

Available at multiple locations, including Hensall, Drayton, Ailsa Craig, Aylmer, Mitchell, Tilbury & Harrow.

 

The Field Marketer Intern assists with the sales and service of crop inputs and food grade contracting procurement to customers and new prospects from within a specific HC location base. The goal of this position is to obtain agronomic skills and knowledge, and to develop sales and leadership skills to move into future related roles.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand agronomic tasks in accordance with the Certified Crop Advisor Designation (CCA) including weed, insect and disease identification and various field scouting techniques.
  • Assist with inventory tasks including counts and re-counts.
  • Maintain records of field conditions during field walks.
  • Assist with office duties such as filing, invoicing, answering phones, scheduling, etc.
  • Operate forklift to load or unload chemicals and seed.
  • Assist with overall shipping, receiving, and storing/conditioning of commercial grains.
  • Attend weekly education with other interns to learn agronomic solutions.
  • Work with the Operations division to schedule repairs and maintenance at the location.
  • Understand and follow all HC health & safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Post-Secondary education in Agricultural related program or relevant experience in the ag industry.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Agricultural cropping knowledge.
  • Computer skills, including strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Time management, and ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Technical ability and experience operating custom application and/or farm machinery.
  • Sales and negotiation skills.
  • Capable of building lasting relationships within and outside HC.

 

Salary: $20.50 per hour for 40 hours/week

 

Additional Application Information:

  • Must have a valid G drivers license.

 

This job requires standing and walking, with some time spent sitting at a computer. It also requires travelling by car within a 1.5 hour territory to service accounts.

 

The time will be split between office, HC locations and farm visits. This job will require some outdoor work in a combination of environments and weather, with potential for exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils.

 

The hours will vary dependent on operational requirements. In season will require extra hours including nights and weekends.
