- Demonstrated initiative in developing new sales channels or markets.
- Track record of mentoring junior sales staff and fostering professional growth within a team.

- Technical Literacy: Strong computer literacy and the ability to discuss technical software-related topics in accessible terms for non-technical audiences.
- Sales Drive: Proven natural born salesperson with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas. Must be highly motivated by targets and financial incentives.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptionally organized, with experience in tracking customer interactions, managing follow-ups, and overseeing a small team s activities.
- Written Communication: Ability to draft clear, persuasive, and grammatically correct proposals, emails, and reports.
- Remote Work Experience: Comfortable and experienced in working from home, with the discipline to manage time and responsibilities independently.
- Location: Preferably based in the Mid-West to facilitate regular travel and close proximity to our principal customer base.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness and ability to travel regularly for customer visits, team meetings, and industry events across the Mid-West.
- Sales Experience: Documented success in selling technical products, ideally software or technology-driven solutions.
- Team Management: Experience in building, managing, and motivating a small sales group.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Grain Industry or related agricultural sectors (such as poultry, pet foods, milling, etc.) is highly preferred.
- CRM Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ACT! CRM or comparable customer relationship management platforms is required.

Key Responsibilities
- Sales Generation & Closing: Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for our software solutions, maintaining a sharp focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Presentation & Communication: Deliver engaging and informative presentations to varied audiences, ensuring technical concepts are easily understood regardless of the listener's background.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, staying in regular communication to understand their evolving needs and ensure satisfaction with our solutions.
- Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and develop a small sales team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving group and individual sales goals.
- Technical Consultation: Act as a knowledgeable resource on our software products, confidently discussing technical details and demonstrating how our solutions address specific customer challenges.
- Organizational Management: Stay organized in all aspects of sales activities, from managing leads and follow-ups to coordinating team efforts and reporting progress to senior management.
- Writing & Documentation: Prepare proposals, sales materials, and correspondence with clarity and professionalism. Good writing skills are considered a valuable asset.
- CRM Utilization: Use ACT! CRM or similar systems to manage contacts, track sales activities, and maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions.
- Remote Work: Efficiently work from a home office, leveraging digital tools to collaborate with the sales team and communicate with customers.
- Travel: Travel regularly within the Mid-West region to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and represent the company at industry events.
