Seed Quality & Production Manager - Texas

Summary
A leading agricultural organization is seeking a Seed Quality & Production Manager to oversee the production, quality, and supply of planting seed. This role requires strong agronomic expertise, hands-on field management, and coordination with growers, production teams, and dealers. The primary objective is to ensure the delivery of high-quality seed that meets internal standards and supports commercial success.

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to senior management within the Research & Development function.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and collaborate with growers for Foundation and Planting Seed production.

- Monitor seed fields throughout planting, growth, and harvest stages.

- Oversee seed cleaning operations and coordinate with third-party companies for seed treatment.

- Evaluate and ensure the quality of planting seed.

- Manage inventory by variety and oversee logistics for seed movement.

- Work closely with R&D and leadership teams on trialing and commercialization projects, including international initiatives.

- Prepare and maintain accurate records related to production and seed quality.

- Frequent travel required to visit growers, fields, and facilities.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.

- Strong knowledge of agronomic practices in growing field crops.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in seed crop production.

- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or comparable software.

- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.

- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with farmers, dealers, and cross-functional teams.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.

- Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Physical & Travel Requirements

- Willingness and ability to travel extensively as needed.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
