QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Experience in pregnancy diagnosis (palpation or ultrasound) or willingness to learn
- Proficiency in AI breeding
- Experience working with dairy cattle preferred
- Strong work ethic and communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends as needed
- Leadership skills and a desire to grow into a supervisory role a plus

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing an established dairy who is seeking a motivated and dependable Reproduction Manager to join their team on a large, progressive dairy in Idaho. This position is a key part of the herd health and breeding program, working closely with our on-staff veterinarian and a team of breeding technicians. The ideal candidate has experience in preg-checking (palpation or ultrasound), AI breeding, and general cow handling. This role offers growth potential into a supervisory position for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pregnancy checks using palpation or ultrasound (experience preferred, training available)
- Conduct artificial insemination (AI) in cows and heifers
- Assist with heat detection and reproductive record keeping
- Collaborate with the herd veterinarian and breeding techs to optimize reproductive performance
- Support and participate in cow movement and hoof trimming
- Assist with treating sick or injured cows in the hospital pen
- Maintain accurate health and reproduction records
- Follow all herd health protocols and animal welfare guidelines
- Contribute to a positive team environment and assist where needed
