QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of full-time current ranch experience
- Good cow/calf handling skills and solid calving experience
- Good animal health and nutrition background is a plus
- Able to spot, diagnose, treat sick cattle
- Feeding and haying equipment experience needed
- Willingness to assist with some crop production

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Ranch Assistant for a well-established cow/calf operation in Nebraska. This ranch operation consists of a commercial cowherd and hay operation. Ranch Assistant needs to be diversified and not afraid of jumping in where and when needed. They are looking at expansion of cows, so this is a new position for growth. Employer has had success with long-term employment. Would prefer candidates who understand animal health and nutrition. Need to have a good haying background, able to build new fence, repair existing fence, and as this operation does farm and a person willing to assist with fall harvest would be ideal. Person needs to be diversified, self-starter, but who can also take direction. Need to be neat and clean and take pride in their work. Needs to be very interested in cattle and be career minded, this is a long-term ranching position, not just a job. Wages are determined by experience, stability, and references. Location is great, close to both a grade school and high school and available supplies are just a short drive of less than 10 miles with multiple options less than 30 minutes away.
