QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Experienced sprayer applicator preferred; possibly train a strong farm equipment operator willing to learn
- Strong math skills for rate calculations and tank mixes
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow chemical labels and prescriptions
- Preventive maintenance and general repair skill set
- Experience operating larger late-model JD equipment and precision ag systems (guidance, section control, prescriptions)
- CDL or willingness/ability to obtain a CDL (employer supported)
- Solid crop production knowledge and a hands-on, team-first attitude
- Self-starter with flexibility to work variable hours during spray windows

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a well-qualified On-Farm Sprayer / Farm Assistant for a progressive Colorado crop producer. The primary focus is in-season spraying (March-October) with broader support across crop production the rest of the year. We're looking for a conscientious operator who takes pride in their work, values safety, and is comfortable with larger, late-model John Deere precision ag equipment. Possibly willing to train the right farm equipment operator who's eager to learn spraying.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate self-propelled sprayers and support equipment; perform accurate and timely applications within labeled guidelines
- Calculate and mix chemical rates; read and follow chemical labels and application instructions
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections; handle preventive maintenance and general repairs on equipment
- Assist with planting, tillage, harvest, grain handling, and other farm tasks when not spraying
- Keep detailed records of applications and help maintain chemical and parts inventories
- Follow all safety, stewardship, and compliance practices; remain highly aware of surroundings and conditions

 

Seasonal Schedule:
Spray season: March-October; hours vary with weather and application windows
Slower period: January-February focused on maintenance, prep, and training
