QUALIFICATIONS:

- Direct Experience operating modern farm equipment is a must; silage/forage operation would be a big plus
- Must have direct experience with Pivot Irrigation
- Solid row crop experience from planting to silage harvest preferred
- Technical knowledge of GPS, auto-steer, and precision farming
- Some conversational Spanish preferred
- Dedicated and willing to work long hours during peak seasons
- Routine maintenance and mechanical ability with an attention to detail is a must
- Hard working, team player, strong communicator, self-starter, high morals, good ethics, motivated, and honest
- Willingness to jump in and assist when and where needed is a must
- CDL with a good driving record is a plus



JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-Placement is searching for a Lead Farmer for this progressive dairy in New Mexico. This person needs to know planting through silage harvest, have experience with large modern farm machinery, pivot irrigation, and have a technical mindset that is not afraid of change. Maintaining and servicing farm equipment is required. Light welding is desirable. This position is all farming operations related to dairy feedstuffs. The farmer will be directly responsible for all phases of crop production, taking direction, as needed, from the owners. Capability to work in a team environment, over long hours in peak season, ability to see the larger picture of operations, and have common sense. This is a progressive operation looking for the right honest person, committed to long-term employment, someone to grow with the business. This position offers advancement opportunities in pay as the person becomes familiar with and competent in the farming operations. Also located near great outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and great scenery for the outdoor enthusiast. Salary will be determined by experience and negotiated with benefits as needed.
