JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-Placement represents a well-established, family-owned, farmer-first grain brokerage, trading, and risk management firm headquartered in South Carolina. The team operates across two complementary business lines. The brokerage service provides cash grain brokerage, feed ingredient brokerage, and introducing futures brokerage services — helping producers and end users navigate markets and manage price risk. The trading service is our grain merchandising arm, working directly with producers across the Southeast to buy grain, connecting farmers to the feed channel and export markets, and moving grain through truck, storage elevator, and transload facilities.
As a Grain Broker & Risk Management Advisor, you will serve as a trusted partner to grain producers across your region — helping them navigate cash markets, understand local basis, manage price risk, and execute sound marketing strategies. You will build and manage your own book of business, deliver ongoing market insight, and represent our firm with a farmer-first focus.
This role is ideal for someone with an agricultural background and a strong grasp of grain markets who is ready to step into a client-facing advisory role — backed by an experienced team and a comprehensive suite of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with grain and cotton producers and end users as a cash grain broker, building and managing your own book of client relationships
- Provide 1:1 personalized grain marketing plans and ongoing risk management advice tailored to each producer's operation
- Advise clients on futures, options, forward contracts, and basis strategies to manage price risk
- Monitor and communicate local cash prices, basis levels, and market conditions on a regular basis
- Conduct on-farm visits and willingness to speak on market updates at local producer meetings
