QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within a feedlot environment
- Solid background in animal health and/or relevant combination of technical training and field experience
- Proven supervisory experience with a demonstrated drive to lead and excel
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic
- Ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and direct yard maintenance and operational improvements
- Skilled in analyzing operations to identify and implement strategies that improve feeding performance, cattle health, and overall profitability

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Feedyard Manager for this Nebraska producer. We are seeking a hands-on Working Feedyard Manager to oversee the daily operations of this Nebraska-based cattle feeding operation. This position requires strong leadership and an in-depth understanding of feedlot operations, animal health, and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage daily feedyard operations, including receiving, processing, and shipping of cattle
- Oversee feeding programs, feed mill operations, feed ingredient inventory, and nutrition management
- Maintain and service equipment, ensuring all rolling stock is operational and well-maintained
- Supervise yard staff to ensure efficient workflow and high productivity
- Monitor and manage animal health, working closely with consulting veterinarians and nutritionists
- Strive to reduce shrink and death loss while improving overall cattle performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all relevant regulations and environmental guidelines
- Manage cost controls and evaluate equipment/repair needs to maximize return on investments
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility while fostering good community and neighbor relations
- Promote continuous improvement and professional development through training and industry engagement
