Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Maintenance Manager for a progressive, large-scale commercial feedyard operation in Nebraska. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee and manage all aspects of feedyard maintenance operations, ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and at a high standard of performance. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, proven leadership skills, and experience managing maintenance teams in a feedyard, livestock, or heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee all feedyard maintenance operations including pen upkeep, road maintenance, fence repair, and general facility maintenance
· Manage and supervise a maintenance crew of approximately 10-12 employees, including training, scheduling, and performance management
· Oversee shop operations to ensure timely and effective repair of equipment and infrastructure
· Coordinate maintenance and repair of water systems including tanks, pipelines, and plumbing components
· Ensure proper upkeep of feedyard infrastructure and respond promptly to maintenance issues
· Assist in troubleshooting and coordinating repairs involving welding, mechanical systems, and general facility needs
· Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company safety standards
· Work closely with Feedyard Manager to prioritize maintenance needs and improve operational efficiency
· Assist with preventative maintenance planning and scheduling
· Coordinate with outside contractors for larger repair or expansion projects as needed
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in maintenance management, preferably in a feedyard, livestock operation, or similar environment
· Strong leadership ability with experience managing teams of 10+ employees
· Solid mechanical aptitude including knowledge of equipment, welding, and general repairs
· Experience with plumbing systems, water lines, and facility infrastructure maintenance
· Ability to oversee shop operations and ensure quality workmanship
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
· Willingness to work extended hours, including participation in a weekend rotation schedule (typically targeted at one weekend per month, though additional coverage may be required based on operational needs)
· Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
