Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified Feed Department Manager for a large commercial cattle feeding operation in Kansas. This is a hands-on management position with a progressive company offering strong team support, growth opportunities, and a well-maintained, large-scale feeding facility. This role is open due to an internal promotion, reflecting the company's commitment to developing and advancing its people.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the feed department in a large commercial feedyard
- Manage feed delivery schedules to ensure cattle are fed accurately and on time
- Monitor feed rations and work closely with nutritionists and management team
- Supervise and lead feed crew, including training, scheduling, and accountability
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of feed trucks, mixers, and related equipment
- Monitor bunk management and adjust feeding strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate feed records and ensure operational efficiency
- Coordinate closely with yard management and other department managers

Ideal Candidate
- Previous feedyard experience required in feed/bunk management
- Experience supervising or leading a team preferred
- Strong understanding of feed rations, cattle performance, and feeding systems
- Mechanically inclined with ability to oversee equipment operation and maintenance
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a management team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Approximately $70,000+ DOE
- Performance-based bonus potential (approximately $10,000)
